Our factory colors offer a rich vibrant color that is a blendable match to the factory vehicles and codes indicated Quality polymers (resins), solvents, and additives used in the formulation ensure ease of application, fast dry, and good coverage. The base mixes 2:1 with UreChem urethane grade reducer (included in kit) and the clear mixes 4:1 with activator for the MS clear or 2:1 with the glamour clear.
Will this paint match my vehicle?
We go to great lengths and expense to ensure a good match to factory color standards available for this color. However, due to variations in color from the vehicle factory during the manufacture of your vehicle, it is impossible to guarantee a “perfect match” to every vehicle. This is true of any brand of automotive paint no matter what it costs. These matches are typically very close and suitable for overall painting or repairs where proper blending techniques are employed. We don’t recommend purchasing this or any brand of paint online for repaints of parts that are simply painted and bolted on next to the factory colors. For “bolt on” paint repairs, it is best to buy locally so you can use your local paint store’s alternate/variant decks or color scanner to choose the best matching variant to your vehicle. Always spray a test panel before painting your vehicle to ensure an acceptable match.
Does this product meet my local VOC requirement?
Check local regulations before purchasing. Some areas require a “low VOC” automotive paint for compliance with new air regulations. See our low VOC tab for the latest information.
WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer.
What is ‘Reducer’, and which one should I buy?
Adding reducer to your paint will make it easier to apply to your vehicle. Generally, you should choose the “medium” option unless you know you’re going to be applying paint in very warm or cold environments.
What is ‘Activator’, and which one should I buy?
Activator helps paint cure in a reasonable time period, and you should select it based on the temperature of the application area. Generally, you should choose the “medium” option unless you know your vehicle paint will cure in a very warm or cold environment.
Which clear coat should I buy?
Most of our products are available with either our UC-410 MS 2K Polyurethane clear or our UC-210 HS Glamour Polyurethane clear. The main difference between the two clears is the thickness. Our UC-210 is a thicker clear that can be cut and polished extensively, while our UC-410 is a thinner clear that’s easier to apply. Customers who favor thinner clear coats or who are beginning painters should opt for the UC-410.
Which gloss sheen should I apply?
The sheen you choose really comes down to personal preference. In general, the flatter sheens show less dirt and contaminants (low gloss finishes are very hard to polish out nibs) while the glossier sheens like satin and semi will look blacker and are generally eaiser to maintain.
How much paint do I need?
The amount of paint depends on a lot of factors, but generally one of our 1 gallon kits will paint the outside and jambs on most vehicles. Large SUVs or large trucks where you are spraying inside the bed may need an additional quart kit (or two) but this is uncommon.
NOTE: If you can’t find a single quart size of the kit you’re looking at on our website, please contact us! We are adding quart-sized versions of many of our kits to our website, but it’s a time-consuming process.
